circles all spinning and blinking their way down
city seascape
circles all spinning and people all blinking against
wind and breath and my uncertain smiles

i have been skin pulled tight around the belly of sorrow
and science is alive in me a give and take of things
my cells spun like cotton candy i wish for once i could
feel like tasting

awake in the autumn the trees bend with dreams of winter
possess me, rescue me from the heat curling around my hair
rescue me from my own personal summer hell
she was sudden and screaming while i was still basking
in what at first was worth
this triumph of first blood

i watched and i waited sun in my eyes dividing
my hazel into the colour wheel dividing and painting
something less real

a blinking and cells arresting each other all
banged in a night life fever

i perfered the romantic way of course
balancing on my tongue the words i dreamed
